new sailsNew sails for club boats

We have taken delivery of two new sets of sails for the club Feva’s. Manufactured in Dacron by GP Sails they are similar to the original race sails but have been especially designed to be more durable for club sailing and training.

The mainsails can be easily reefed.

For more information on the sails please follow the link below:

Youth Sailing Boost

WSC have been given the use of 3 Hobie Twixxy Catamarans for their Junior and Youth sailing. This is a huge boost for the club adding a whole new opportunity for all young sailors at the club to experience and learn cat sailing.

“The Twixxy is a well equipped family boat with twin trapeze which combines performance with durability. The hulls are triple layer rotomoulded so no worries about the odd bump and you can drag it up and down the beach without damaging it. A fantastic introductory boat that will get you into cat sailing at an attractive price”.

SpecificationsTwixxy Catamarans

Length - 4.38m
Width - 2.3m
Weight - 139kg
Mast Height - 7.00m
Mainsail area - 10.26m2
Jib Area - 2.26m2

The boats will be available to use during scheduled junior and youth sessions and can be booked by members to use at other times. Outside of scheduled session there will be a fee of £20 for youth sailors to book a boat and £30 for adults. As the club does not own these boats and due to the need to cover the cost of wear and tear, we will also require a £50 deposit to cover the insurance excess.

To book a boat please email youth@weston.org.uk

The boats have been loaned by the British Hobie Cat Class Association. For more details on the association follow the link: http://www.hobiecat.org.uk/index.php?go=news
