  • Your Club needs help

    As mentioned in Newsletters, WSC is run by volunteers for the benefit of all members.   • Mike Geernaert

    Very sad news to report, long time member Mike Geernaert died suddenly but peacefully on 25th August 2024. Funeral Service 23rd September, Chesil House, Winchester 2.00pm, sailing friends would be welcome.

    In July we shared the sad news that Christine Savage passed away on the 15 th July following a short illness, we've extended our deepest sympathy to her husband Steve, daughters Sarah & Becky and Granddaughter Christy. As we all know, Christine ran our Galley at WSC for many years. Chris kept us reliably supplied with hot drinks and great food all year round. The funeral

  • WSC / Southampton SC Summer Mini-series

    Followers of our Facebook page will have seen the summary of our recent evening racing. Congratulations to Clare Stubbs who won the Weston / Southampton SC Summer Mini-series very convincingly in one of the Club's RS Visions, and received a bottle of bubbly kindly presented by Southampton SC at the after race social.   • WSC Committee Boat

    After some discussion WSC has acquired a boat suitable for use as a committee boat to give flexibility with race starts and course setting at Open Meetings and Club Racing. It may also become useful as a support vessel for other activities such as SSOS and cruises.   • SSOS - Saturday 6th July

    This Saturday 6th July at Social Sailing on Saturday (SSOS) I have had a request for a session on using the main sail controls (e.g. kicker, downhaul, etc).   • Solent University Sailing Club (SUSC)

    SUSC have been searching for a new training and home base and after some negotiation were delighted to say they have selected WSC. They will be using Weston as their training base and storing their Firefly fleet with us at WSC. SUCS compete in Team Racing with other Universities around the UK.   • WSC Low Tide Cruise - 16th June 2024

    This coming Sunday 16th June the club is running a patrol boat supported low tide cruise. If you are planning to take part please read and digest the sailing instructions. These can be found on the club's website here . A final destination decision will not be made until the morning of departure , but our cruise leader John Goldsbrough, will keep us updated via WhatsApp posts of likely destinations nearer the time.

  • Evening Mini Series with SSC - 16th May 2024

    As you may have seen, next week on the 16th May we start our Evening Mini Series with Southampton Sailing Club. Boats will compete in the Mini-Series as a single fleet, but will start in the fleets specified in the host club's Sailing Instructions and will all sail the same course, but not necessarily the same number of laps. Results will be calculated using handicap corrected average lap times. The Mini-Series is scheduled to have
