Joyriders / Boy racers at Netley

To all members.
The club has been contacted by residents of Netley with regards to joyriders/ boy racers using the area just outside the clubs main entrance as a meeting point in the evenings and at weekends. They are working with the local council and police to deal with this nuisance.
The club has been contacted to make sure that the gates are always locked and the pound secured when there no members present.
I am aware that the entrance gate was left unlocked last month, however this i believe was a one off.
That said, can I remind members again that ALL gates should be locked when the club is left unattended. If your sailing outside of racing and SSOS events, you must not leave the gates open. Lock up and take your club key with you. Also, if you have used the clubs members entrance, make sure the external door is double locked.
I will be meeting representatives from the local community and council next week to ensure we work together to make sure the club and surrounding area is a safe place to be.
Your support in making sure the club is as secure as we can make it is very much appreciated. Don't leave it for someone else to lock up!
Regards, Gerry Sewell GPC
